About Fulton County Jail
The jail was built in 1898 as Fulton Tower and has gone through many changes over the years. Fulton Tower was demolished in 1962, and they built the jail we have today in its place.
The Fulton County Jail holds 3,100 detainees. There are four parts to the Fulton County Jail: the main jail, the North Annex Jail, the Marietta Annex, and the South Annex Jail.
When first arrested, inmates are transferred to the main jail at 901 Rice St NW, Atlanta, Georgia 30318. Inmates are then moved to the proper annex to await trial or serve a sentence of less than a year.
The Fulton County Jail is a medium-maximum security facility. There are 625 staff members, and an average day sees 2,500 inmates being processed. Correctional officers at the Fulton County Jail carry mace and are highly trained to protect themselves and other staff members or inmates.

Fulton County Jail Inmates
The Fulton County Jail houses both male and female inmates, with the highest population being male. Females account for only 15% of the population at this jail. In addition to housing local offenders, the Fulton County Jail also holds around 496 federal inmates daily.
Most inmates in the Fulton County Jail await trials for misdemeanors and non-violent crimes. There are also offenders serving jail sentences of less than a year. Those with longer sentences are transferred to the Georgia State prison located in Reidsville, GA.

Friends and family members of inmates can set up accounts by visiting https://securustech.net/ or calling 1-800-844-6591.
To make phone calls, inmates must purchase tablets from Securus. Local calls can be made from these devices.
The inmate will need to purchase a table on the floor for $11 for the first day. The remaining 29 days in the month are free. Inmates must have headphones to use the calling tables, and these cost $5.95, with no proration charges or refunds.
Fulton County Jail Visitation
The Fulton County Jail wants visitors to be aware of visitation rules so they can visit loved ones and friends without worries. There is a dress code in place. The following are NOT allowed while visiting the jail.
- See-through garments or those that show body parts
- Tight-fitting clothing, such as yoga pants, spandex, leggings, etc.
- Clothing with holes or rips, whether artificial or naturally occurring
- Shorts that come above the knee
- Miniskirts, short dresses, or sagging pants
- Visible white undergarment shirts, tank tops, and sleeveless shirts
- Head coverings, such as baseball hats, scarves, and bandanas
- Sleepwear, including pajamas and nightgowns
- Sunglasses
- Handbags or purses
- Clothing with illegal or offensive images or writing
- Shoes determined to be hazardous, including flip-flops, sandals, and heels
- Outerwear, such as coats, jackets, and hoodies
- Undergarments are required but should not be visible
Inmates are only allowed visitors on Thursdays. Visitors must be on the inmate’s approved visitor list.
Visiting Hours
9:00 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
4:00 p.m. until 8:25 p.m.
Video visits are allowed Monday through Friday.
A maximum of five adults and children are allowed at each visit. An adult must accompany children under the age of 17. No visitation is allowed on Saturday or Monday, including video.
Each visit is 30 minutes, and visitors must arrive 15 minutes before their scheduled appointment. If you are more than 10 minutes late, you cannot visit. You must bring a valid photo ID.
You will be given a pin number and booth for video visits. All visitors must schedule an appointment unless they live outside of a 50-mile radius from the jail.
